With 25 years of experience mainly in the nonprofit social services industry, Thea Parks joined KCSL as the new Human Resources Director a few days before the start of 2022. Thea’s love for service was instilled in her at an early age. Her maternal grandmother was a social worker, and her mother is a retired HR professional. Thea’s goals include leaving a lasting positive impression by serving employees promptly and efficiently.
Thea is married to Sean Parks and has three stepchildren. In her spare time, Thea volunteers at her church, is a church class facilitator, a women’s motivational speaker and group leader.
What’s your favorite thing about working at KCSL so far?
KCSL feels like my professional home, and I am so glad to be here. Our staff have big hearts and it’s easy to see that they want the best for the individuals and families that they serve. Providing quality customer service in HR is my mantra. Being a part of place that has caring individuals means so much to me!
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I can be found curled up with a good book or trying to participate in something that will boost and refresh my toolbox. I love to travel, so any opportunity to getaway is greatly appreciated!
Share a fun fact about you that people may not know.
I’m a baker. I’ve made over 20 wedding cakes and countless occasion cakes. I even made and decorated my own five-tier wedding cake.
