Parent-Child Assistance Program (P-CAP)
|
KCSL's Parent-Child Assistance Program (P-CAP) provides voluntary, intensive in-home case
management services for pregnant women and families who have children under the age of 1,
reside in Shawnee County and are currently using or have recently used substances.
P-CAP Goals
- Enhance child health and development
- Prevent child abuse and neglect
- Promote self-suciency of the parent
- Connect the parent to services needed to assist in the recovery process
Core Services Offered
- Support families in the home face-to-face at least once a week
- Create an individual family support/service plan that identifies goals for personal and family growth and the growth and development of the child
- Connection to substance treatment and support during treatment plan
- Assist families in identifying their children’s needs
- Ensure families have a medical provider
- Help families feel empowered
- Link families with other resources in the community as needed for assistance with education and mental health services
and housing and financial support.
