Child Abuse Prevention Month Events

A variety of fun Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) month activities will occur throughout April. See below for a list of activities that will take place across the state as a part of the 2018 CAP Month campaign.

Statewide
  • APRIL 6 - Wear Blue Day. Wear blue in support to bring awareness to child abuse prevention programs. Share your pictures on KCSL’s Facebook and Twitter using #GreatChildhoods!

Montgomery County
  • APRIL 14 - Join us before the park opening for the 2nd Annual “Chair”ish our Children event in Independence! Enjoy a FREE Chris Cakes breakfast and bid on children’s chairs creatively painted by local artists during a live auction. Sedgwick County
  • APRIL 7 - Annual Family Fun Day at Sedgwick County Zoo is Saturday, April 7. With advance registration, families can enjoy a discounted admission price of $7.50 per person (ages 2 and under free). Click HERE to register!

Wyandotte County
  • APRIL 20 - KCSL has partnered with Sporting KC to promote CAP Month. As part of this arrangement, we are able to offer discounted tickets at $28 each to the Sporting KC vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC game on Friday, April 20. Must purchase tickets by April 9 for discount. Purchase tickets now!
